The modern world imposes itself into our bodies. Technology brings great freedom, great mobility, global connection, and efficiency, but it can also impend upon our health.

As an example: Modern shoes are built to support our arches, but the strengthened support actually weakens our feet, becuase we don't exercise the muscles used in walking barefoot, the way we evolved, and the consequence is we are more prone to ankle injury.

There are other more drastic examples. Two of the most common being the sedentary lifestyle we have grown accustomed to and the synthetic diet we rely on. Almost half of America's working force sits at a desk job all day. Sitting all day is not how we evolved, this causes us to grow obese which spurs a whole assortment of health problems.

Similarly, we have any and all foods readily available to us at all times, so we tend to eat the best tasting before the most nutritious.

Primal Nutrition is about stripping away the modern world, looking at primal man, how he came to be through evolution, and what the healthiest lifestyle is to fit this primal man. This incompasses everything from diet, to exercise, to sleep patterns, to managing stress.

How Do You Start a Primal Nutrition Lifestyle?

Primal Nutrition isn't a diet, it's a way of living. It requires daily choices and the formation of new and better habits when it comes to eating, exercising (and even just walking). Here's some basic tips to get started:

+ Cut out the excess carbs. Sugars and sweets were not staples of the primal diet. Stick to meats and vegetables. Even wheats and grains should be eaten sparingly.

+Avoid synthetic and over-processed potables. This is a no brainer, avoid packaged high sucrose foods. If it's microwavable and has a giant pink smiley monster on the front of package, it's probably not good for you.

+ Incorporate a multitude of exercises into your schedule. Many people find an exercise plan that consists of one or two aerobic style workouts and nothing more. To keep a primally fit body, vary your exercise plan. A new form of fitness called "CrossFit" is a good example of the Primal Nutrition way of exercising. It utilizes weights, stretches, sprints, and aerobic exercises all into one workout.

+Go barefoot! That's right, use your feet the way they were meant to be used. Try a walk on the beach barefoot, or spend a day at a park without shoes on. Also, there are some alternative "second skin shoes" to normal footwear that allow more freedom of the foot if you are worried about stepping on glass.
